Cafe Chat Week of January 3

Kim's first question of the new year is: "What is the most important truth/lesson you feel God taught you in 2008? How will that truth change your life in 2009?"

The most significant and life changing learning for me in 2008 centered around abiding in Christ. This will not only alter my life in 2009, but forever after. All that I am is all that He is.

To get a glimpse at my learning process, please take a few moments to read the following posts:

Learning to Abide - Part 1

Learning to Abide - Part 2

Learning to Abide - Part 3

Jesus calls us not only to receive Him as our Savior, but to fully abide and live our life in Him. I have never received a better invitation than that!

WOW! That was amazing, to say the least. I have to agree...you have to be led by the Spirit to understand what He is saying. And you know, sometimes the Lord speaks only to us...so others just won't understand what is being said as a result, so don't fret about that. What you shared in those three posts was an absolutely beautiful conversation and life changing moment between you and Jesus. No one will fully understand it they way YOU do. And if God wants to use this for someone else, ultimately it will be the Holy Spirit working. God will use it for those He intended. Thank you for sharing...that was just AWESOME.

Lovely. I especially like the image of relaxing on the couch and having a conversation. That illustrates that our relationship with the Divine can be personal and real.

Blessings to you,

Freaky, girl. No kidding--I check out CWO off and on and stumbled on it tonight...and saw this meme...and posted...and started looking at the links...and you were first. And in the fall, I have decided to teach a class for the women of our church on the subject of abiding based on John 15and have been reading it over and over and started the writing process...and I am so excited to read what you've written!! Just wanted to let you know! :)
In God's economy, of course, this isn't so weird...

It is a lesson that changes everything. Thanks for sharing.

I tagged you on my websitehttp://wearebeautiful.wordpress.com to share a scripture that has impacted you and why. Please don't feel obligated and only do it if you want, but I thought it would be interesting and fun.
