The one female kitten that survived last year
became the lady of the barn
after the two mom cats disappeared
with five unaltered males
surrounding her
breeding was inevitable
all but two of the males
have wandered away
but they have indeed left their mark
Mom brought her four babies
down from the barn loft
this week
new life
to stroke and cuddle
to capture with cameras
to chuckle at
and worry about
as day follows night
season after season
the cycle continues
For everything there is a season,
a time for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born and a time to die.
A time to plant and a time to harvest.
