damp eyed evening

I am soft
melted this evening
thoughts drifting north
across miles
and mindsets
eight more sleeps
until we take wing
nostalgia is thick
as I listen to
Oh Canada
with tears brimming
almost close enough
to taste maple on my tongue

three months from now
will I repeat this
in reverse
facing our African return?

split lives
yet let my heart beat
an undivided rhythm
only His

Teach me your way, Lord,
    that I may rely on your faithfulness;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.

Such a beautiful, poignant poem. I've never experienced the beauty of Africa, except through pictures, but I did live in Canada for three years as a child. I have wonderful memories of our time there. I pray you have safe travels and enjoy your visit home.

Hello sister in the Lord (His Fire Fly) I am a Pastor from Mumbai, India. I am blessed and feel privileged and honored to get connected with you as well as know you through your profile on the blogger and the blog post. It is a beautiful composition of the poem with emotional expressions. I have enjoyed it. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be strengthened , encouraged and praying for one another. I have been in the Pastoral ministry for last 37 rs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorst of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the adults from the wet to come to Mumbai to work with us during their vacation time. We would love to have you Rick come to Mumbai to work with us during your vacation time. I am sure you will have a life changing experience. We would well come young people from your church to to come to work with us during their vacation time. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede.
